   Hi y'all! Today I'm happy to share with you my latest design, the Mother's Day collection is already available on my Etsy Shop and it's gorgeous! The best thing about it is the price, this amazing collection costs just a dollar!!! Yeahhh a dollar!!!
   The whole package includes Patterned papers, Drink wraps, Cupcake wraps, Mini Party Logos, Party Logos, Party Flags, Napkin Rings, Blank Tent Cards, Note Card, "Happy Mother's Day" Banner and Logos, Favor Tags and 2 options of Cake Banner, isn't that nice?

    Sorry I haven't been posting to often, it's because things are a little busy around here! Which is good...
 I was planing to post this DIY last Saturday but as you see I couldn't do it! Now here we are...and I can't wait for you to see it what I have done!
    Back in the days, one of my stores in Brazil had similar lamp shades as part of the decoration, they were made out of some kind of plastic, so trying to make something new to use as a party decor  I had the thought to  make these paper spheres. You can also use it to decorate the kids Room,  the ones I made are now part of the decoration of  my son's bedroom.
   The original design for this lamp was done over 30 years ago by Holger Strom and what is amazing about this design is you can make up to 22 diferent shapes using the same module, isn't that amazing? He is a genious!!!
   Since I wanted to use bold and trendy colors, first I thought making with some colored cardstock paper , then I realized it was going to be a little expensive, here what I did...
   I had some brown paper left home, so I bought gift paper wraps, stick them together using spray adhesive, trace the module and cut them out. At first it seems a lot of work but I can tell you it worth it!!!
   A bougth a bin of brown paper at Walmart for just $6.50, the gift paper wrap costs $5.00 and with the lenght of the paper wrap you can trace up to 100 modules! The brown paper bin you can trace over 500!!!
   But here is what I figured out, this method just works for the round shapes, to make the oval, diamond and the other shapes you will need the module to be colored on both sides...

Material needed:

  1. Brown paper;
  2. Colored Gift Paper Wrap; (about 8 feet)
  3. Spray Adhesive;
  4. Scissors;
  5. Damp cloth;
*If you don't want to do this process, just use a colored cardstock paper.

  • Lay the brown paper and spray the adhesive just about 12" of the lenght ( is better to do little by little than all at once);
  • Lay the back of the gift wrap over the adhesived area and rub the surface using a damp cloth (using a damp cloth will avoid to scratch the paper and it will fasten the process);
  • Trace out 30 modules and cut them out.
  • Start putting the pieces together, you will make something looking like a flower at the bottom (5 pieces);

Here you can see the beggining of the process

Middle of the process

End of the process

To hang the sphere I cut out some circles (cereal box paper) using a scrapbook punch, made a hole on the middle of the circle and the module using a needle, passed through the holes a fish line (made a triple knot an burned the end).

These are the shapes you can make using the same module.

Here you can see the lamp shades I had, they were slightly different but had the same concept.
This photo brings me so many memories.....

I hope you have enjoyed!

  Planning a Bridal Shower it's never easy, it's such a special moment before the big day and we want everything to be perfect!
 A few weeks ago I was requested to design a Bridal Shower Printable Package for the readers of Catch my Party Blog, and I really had a great time doing it! She wanted something Modern yet Traditional and choose the Eggplant and Pink colors for me to work with, what I most love about custom design is the chalenge you put yourself in.
 The final result was beautiful, she loved it and so do I!

The invitation of this "Paisley Bridal Shower collection" is not just beautiful, but is editable! You can download and customize the words, how cool is that? The cupcake toppers has 3 different designs, so does the wraps...

The favor tags are beautiful, it really makes a statement! Other thing that I really love on this collection it's the  Glass Markers, I have add those to all my Bridal Shower collections and people love it! It's a great way to know which glass is yours, no more drinking on other people glasses!

You also have Drink wraps to personalize your water bottles or any other drink you're serving on bottles or Mason Jars...

The Party Flags are so darn cute! You can use as a straw flags or on tothpicks to stick on desserts or sandwiches...

The welcome sign you can frame it and place on a entrance table or just hang on your front door...

The Banner says "Love" and can be placed as a Background or you can just hang on the front of the table.

On the Party Logos, you can find 2 more designs...

To finish with a golden key, thank your guests using this gorgeous note!

The "Paisley Bridal Collection" is Free for download and you can do it by visiting the Catch my Party Blog!

This collection includes Editable Invitation, Welcome sign, Party Logos, Mini Party Logos, Patterned paper sheets, Glass Markers, Blank tent cards, Return Address Labels, Thank you Note, Favor tags, Party flags, Drink wraps and Cupcake wraps. Evertything you need to make your party fabulous!!!
